Freesat+
Freesat+ is a satellite receiver with built-in Hard Disk Recorder (HDR), which records directly on to the built-in hard drive, Freesat+ hard drive size depends on which model you purchace.
The 320GB hard drive can store up to 80 hours of HD programming, or up to 200 hours of standard definition shows.
If a programme has two parts split by another programme in the programme guide (e.g. a film divided into two parts by a news programme) both parts will automatically record.
Recordings are stored in folders named after the programmes being recorded. The Freesat+ receiver will automatically store all programmes of the same name, in the same folder.
In addition to this, it is possible for you to set up your own folders, allowing you to easily manage your personal media.
The USB port allows you to store music and photos on the hard drive, as well as television recordings. You can transfer music and photos to your freesat+ receiver using a USB stick or external hard drive.
The USB port also allows the transfer of television recordings an external drive or computer. This can be particularly useful if reaching the limit of the hard drive's capacity. Please note that some HD recordings may be protected and cannot be copied onto an external drive.
By connecting two seperate cables from the satellite dish (using a dual LNB), to the Freesat+ receiver, it is possible to watch one channel whilst recording another.
Freesat+ includes an accurate recording facility using the broadcaster's signal to start and stop recordings. freesat+ also allows you to extend the start and end time of the recordings.
